Programme - Partners

Giving scholarship holders the opportunity to showcase their work and thereby convey current trends in contemporary art to a wider audience is of central importance to the Künstlerhaus Lukas.
In addition to the creation of working residencies at Künstlerhaus Lukas itself as well as at the partner institutions in Northern Europe, insights into the latest art developments are made possible in readings, exhibitions, concerts or performances, in order to enter into conversation with the scholarship holders and to be able to experience contemporary art at first hand.

Apart from the open days at the Künstlerhaus Lukas, the most important presentation venue is the Neues Kunsthaus in Ahrenshoop, which is open all year round as a sort of showcase for themed exhibitions and events for current and former fellows. The EDITION HOHES UFER AHRENSHOOP, jointly operated by both houses, publishes original graphic book objects, catalogs accompanying exhibitions, and books.

The Kunstmuseum Ahrenshoop and the Kunstkaten in Ahrenshoop are important cooperation partners in Ahrenshoop. In addition, the Künstlerhaus Lukas as well as the Neues Kunsthaus participate in major cultural events such as the Long Night of Art, the Ahrenshoop Literature Days and Film Nights.
Together with the Literaturhaus Rostock, the Literaturzentrum im Koeppenhaus Greifswald and the Literaturrat MV, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Literature Prize is awarded every two years. At the Filmkunstfest Schwerin, an honorary guest and a sponsorship scholarship for screenwriting are awarded annually, the nominees of which design the special program of the Ahrenshooper Filmnächte. Together with the Faculty of Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Wismar and the Caspar David Friedrich Institute at the University of Greifswald, art graduates are supported annually with a scholarship, participation in an exhibition and the printing of a catalog. The Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation awards scholarships to the Künstlerhaus Lukas.

A special concern of the association Künstlerhaus Ahrenshoop e.V. and thus in the programs of the Künstlerhaus Lukas and the Neues Kunsthaus is the networking with partner institutions in the Baltic Sea countries and Northern Europe. Working residencies and interdisciplinary exhibition projects in these Northern European countries are intended to promote individual artistic work and facilitate intercultural understanding.

Partners in the international artist exchange program are currently in Sweden the Baltic Center for Writers and Translators in Visby/Gotland, the KKV Graphic Workshop and the KKV Sculpture Workshop Monumental Malmö and the Workshop and Gallery Ålgården in Borås, in Denmark the Fyns Grafiske Værksted Odense and the guest studio Holufgard, in the Russian Federation the Center for Contemporary Art in Kaliningrad, in Iceland the NES - Artist in Residence project in Skagaströnd, in Finland the artist association GalleriaKone ARSHäme Ry Hämeenlinna, and in Norway the municipality of Vard
