The EDITION HOHES UFER AHRENSHOOP was founded in 1998 as a joint project by the NEUES KUNSTHAUS AHRENSHOOP (New Arts House) and KÜNSTLERHAUS LUKAS (Artists’ House Luke) of the foundation Kulturfonds.

From 1994 onwards, the Künstlerhaus Lukas (Artists’ House Luke) and Neues Kunsthaus Ahrenshoop (New Arts House) have been cooperating in the organization of exhibitions on various topics: contemporary artists’ books and book objects, the connection between literature, fine art and music, and as a new topic dance.

The EDITION publishes original graphic books and book objects, catalogues accompanying the exhibitions (responsibility for catalogues has either one house alone or both houses share responsibility), and collections of the works of holders of scholarship. The original graphic book objects were developed and produced as joint projects and have been purchased by renowned collections, e.g. the Württembergische Landesbibliothek, the Deutsche Literaturarchiv in Marbach and for the collection of Akka and Wulf D. von Lucius.

Every year, the EDITION HOHES UFER AHRENSHOOP takes part in the Frankfurt Book Fair.
