The EDITION HOHES UFER
AHRENSHOOP was founded in 1998 as a joint project by the Neues
Kunsthaus Ahrenshoop and the Künstlerhaus Lukas of the foundation
Kulturfonds.
From 1994 onwards, the Künstlerhaus
Lukas and the Neues Kunsthaus Ahrenshoop have been cooperating in the
organisation of exhibitions on various topics, contemporary artists’
books and book objects, the connection between literature, fine art and
music, and as a new topic dance.
The
EDITION publishes original graphic books and book objects, catalogues
accompanying the exhibitions (the responsibility for catalogues falls
either to one house alone or both houses share responsibility), and
collections of the works of holders of scholarship.
Since the Künstlerhaus Lukas was taken over by
Künstlerhaus Ahrenshoop e.V., the works of the scholarship holders have
been the focus of these documentations and promote international
networking in Northern Europe.
The jointly developed
and produced original graphic book objects have repeatedly been
purchased by renowned collections, including the Württembergische
Landesbibliothek, the Deutsches Literaturarchiv in Marbach, the
Herzog-August-Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel, and can be found in the
collection of Akka and Wulf D. von Lucius.
The
EDITION HOHES UFER AHRENSHOOP participated in the International
Frankfurt Book Fair for 10 years. The works are permanently on display
in exhibitions at the Neue Kunsthaus Ahrenshoop and can also be viewed
in a personalised presentation.
